The Boring stuff:
I’m Jasmine, 17 and English. I’m female. I’m still in school, doing A levels in Physics, Maths and Further Maths and I hope to study Physics at university. I like to think that I’m quite good at it. The Interesting stuff:
I am an unashamed science nerd. I want to study Physics not because it has good job prospects or it’ll make me sound clever (although that does help :P) but because I genuinely love it. I’ve always been fascinated by space, and I remember trying to wrap my head round the idea of the vastness of stars and galaxies ever since I was little. And I love reading about things like gravity and quantum physics and watching documentaries about the latest discoveries. I’m going to stop now because this is beginning to sound like a university application. And not a very good one at that, I’d probably be rejected if this was my university application.

I really, really, really love Doctor Who. I have been obsessed with this show since I was 11, and being perfectly honest, I can barely make it through the day without referencing Doctor Who at least twice. I love the absurdity and fun of it. I love the message it portrays that intellect and romance will always triumph over brute force and cynicism. And I love that it teaches that everyone has the potential to be extraordinary. So I know it sounds sad but I think that this show is important to me. I haven’t seen much of Classic Who yet but I’m getting there. Ten is my Doctor and Rose my favourite companion, but I love pretty much everyone in New Who. I ship Doctor/Rose like Fedex. Also my parents are massive sci-fi fans too and they've kinda condition me from birth to love all things science fiction :P

I am also an atheist. Free thinking and rational thought are incredibly important to be, and I always try to stand up for what I believe is right. Though that doesn’t mean I’m closed minded. If the evidence says my standpoint is wrong I’ll change.

I'm usually quite happy. I've never been the teenager-who-hates-the-world type.

About the site

I started web design and running a website as a hobby in 2005, with a series of really terrible Piczo sites. I then taught myself HTML and moved over to Freewebs (back when it was freewebs). My first domain name was pinstripesandconverse.co.uk in 2007. Perpetual.me.uk was purchased in summer 2010. The name came from the idea of perpetual motion machines, which I always thought were a cool concept.
