Places I want to go

I have this bookmark folder named “Places I want to go”. Ignoring the glaring grammar mistakes in that title, it contains, well, bookmarked pages reminding myself of places I want to visit one day. So I’m sharing some of them.

Big Epic Tour of Britain
I’m British, I’ve lived in Britain all my life, but the furthest away I’ve gone from home without leaving the country is Manchester. I want to visit all the touristy places like the castles in Scotland, and the sights in London. I’m going to go on a Beatles pilgrimage, visiting Abbey Road and Liverpool. And I’m going to visit Wales and go find Torchwood 2. I love the idea of travelling around the country that feels like home and discovering new things about it. And I have this lovely image in my head of sitting in an independent coffee shop drinking hot chocolate and reading a secondhand book I’ve just bought from a newly discovered book shop. Cliched I know, but it sounds lovely.

San Diego Comic Con
I’m a geek. Completely obsessed with Doctor Who. I love all kinds of sci-fi, to the extent that some of my earliest memories are watching Star Wars. And honestly Comic Con sounds like heaven to me. I rarely come across people equally as geeky as me, but to have a whole convention of them? And I’ve always wanted to do the whole cosplay thing, I have my TARDIS dress all planned out. I’m doing this. Even if I have to go alone, I’m going to Comic Con one day.

Amsterdam
This has been bookmarked twice so I’m guessing I really want to go here. I just have a general plan to travel around Europe, visiting museums and seeing the sights. Amsterdam is where I’ve planned out in the most detail though; I’ve even written a travel plan on Word that takes up several places. Did you know there is a clog making museum there? I want to go to a clog making museum.

The Mumbles
I’m not entirely sure where the Mumbles is. Or whether that sentence should have ended with “are” instead. I’m pretty sure it’s in Wales. I’m also pretty sure it exists. I have no idea what is there. I would just like to visit somewhere with the name “The Mumbles”. It sounds like some sort of adorable Time Lord name. All I have to go on for this one is that David Tennant once mentioned it in Doctor Who Confidential, so I presume it must be good.

School, Pottermore and a new layout

I’ve started school again! This year is my last year, which to be honest is kinda scary. I’m really looking forward to going to university. I can’t wait to have my independence. I want to be able to make my own decisions and make my own mistakes, and if that means getting fat from all the chocolate I’m planning to eat for breakfast then so be it. But at the same time it’s very daunting, and it’s beginning to dawn on me that this is it. After this year it’ll be over, and I’ll never go to school again. So it’s kinda scary.

Also I got on Pottermore! I have literally been brewing potions all day non-stop, because, dammit, Slytherin can’t win it’s not right. I got sorted into Ravenclaw, which is what I always considered myself to be. I would be annoyed if I wasn’t because I already own a Ravenclaw scarf and it cost like $35. My wand is a phoenix feather which makes me feel like a special snowflake because apparently they are the rarest.

Lastly, I made a new layout! It’s meant to be the Doctor and Rose, I hope you can tell that! Surprisingly few headdesks and tears in making this layout, I think I must be improving my coding skills. And I’ve updated my about me page! As always, if any typos or mistakes are spotted please let me know!

That is all for now, I’m going to go find some way to avoid homework now.
